Copperfield’s Books weclomes Aubury Doherty as the company’s new General Manager. Aubury has been the manager of the Sebastopol location since 2014. In her new role she will oversee the eight Copperfield’s Books stores as well as the warehouse.
“Aubury brings the needs of the stores front and center to the General Manager’s role,” Paul Jaffe remarked. “Her knowledge and experience are assets that we value highly and will benefit the stores and ultimately, our customers.”
Doherty, a native of Sebastopol, grew up as a patron of Copperfield’s Books as a student at Gravenstein Elementary School. She excelled at 4-H at Hillcrest Middle and at speech and debate at Analy High School before moving to the Midwest and then Portland, where she managed bookstores.
In 2017 Doherty served as the President of the Sebastopol Downtown Association. “As a downtown business, community is very important to us,” said Doherty. “We are conscious and supportive of our customers as well as the city when it comes to events and activities. One of my greatest goals is to bond each store closely with the towns we inhabit. Copperfield’s was the first store I ever shopped in as a child and I want all of our communities to have that same amazing experience I’ve had my entire life.”
