Sebastopol - In honor of Banned Books Week, Copperfield’s is proud to host the director of Project Censored with the latest edition of Censored, which features the top features 25 most underreported stories of 2016-2017. The nation’s oldest news-monitoring group, Project Censored has, since 1976, educated students and the public about the importance of a truly free press for democratic self-government, exposing and opposing news censorship and promoting independent investigative journalism, media literacy, and critical thinking. Bay Area professor Huff has edited or co-edited nine volumes of Censored and contributed numerous chapters to these works dating back to 2008.
Banned Books Week (September 24-30) is an annual event that highlights the value of free and open access to information. Banned Books Week brings together the entire book community in shared support of the freedom to seek and express ideas — even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.
