Independent bookstores are not just stores. They are community centers and local anchors run by passionate readers. They are entire universes of ideas that contain the possibility of real serendipity. They are lively performance spaces and quiet places where aimless perusal is a day well spent.
Independent Bookstore Day is a one-day national party that takes place at indie bookstores across the country on the last Saturday in April. In addition to exclusive books and literary items only available that day, Copperfield’s will be offering free audiobooks, meet and greets with authors, Make-Your-Own Little Golden Book stations, scavenger hunts, live music, kids’ activities, snacks, and more! Check with your hometown bookstore for store-specific schedules.
Excited? Celebrate all indie bookstores in the month of April by picking up a Bookstore Passport in any participating store in Northern California. Visit 10 stores in the month of April and you could win a library of 50 books, all favorites selected by your local booksellers.
