Santa Rosa - Due to unprecedented public demand, this event has outgrown the Copperfield's store, and will now take place outside in the Montgomery Village Courtyard. The event space will open at 6pm. It's October, and likely to be chilly when the sun sets at 6:18pm. Please dress accordingly.
Copperfield's Books is honored to host Gaye LeBaron and Bart Casey. Local journalist and historian Gaye LeBaron first learned of Thomas Lake Harris and his Brotherhood of the New Life Utopian community in the 1960's, when the deserted winery and abandoned mansion that housed the community still stood on the old Henderson Ranch property. LeBaron was intrigued by the story of Harris' life, as well as that of his disciples Nagasawa Kanaye and Laurence Oliphant, and the "New Eden of the West" that he founded on the windswept hilltop and named Fountaingrove. This book, a five-year collaboration between LeBaron and co-author Bart Casey, is the culmination of their effort to tell "the whole story" of this fascinating piece of Santa Rosa history.
The Wonder Seekers of Fountaingrove is availabe for purchase at our Santa Rosa store.
This is not a ticketed event. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis. RSVP does not guarantee a seat.
