Santa Rosa - Greg Sarris, Chairman of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, and author Robert McNally explore the history, and stories of Native Americans. In The Modoc War, McNally tells the wrenching story of the Modoc War of 1872–73, one of the nation’s costliest campaigns against North American Indigenous peoples. Sarris, on the other hand, turns his attention to his ancestral homeland of Sonoma Mountain. How a Mountain Was Made depicts sixteen interconnected original stories inspired by traditional Coast Miwok, and Southern Pomo creation tales.
