Spend the night working with some of our most trusted authors through exercises aimed to help you manage any stress you may be feeling before November 3rd.
Illustrator and author of the new Things You Think About When You Bite Your Nails, Amalia Andrade will lead viewers through a “The Other Side of Fear” drawing/journaling exercise. Nothing Much Happens’ Kathryn Nicolai will lead viewers through a “Happy Place” writing exercise/meditation where she will show how sensory details can build a safe place to keep you present. And Kristina Kuzmic, author of Hold On, But Don’t Hold Still will lead viewers through a “Hear Me Out” family activity that creates a structured way for kids to learn about opposing opinions and debate in constructive ways.

“The other side of fear” exercise
Through a small writing and drawing exercise we will try to tap into the other side of fear, understanding it as a necessary and primal emotion that is not always bad or negative. Fear can teach us many thing and we will be exploring ways in which it can actually HELP us achieve things.

“Hear Me Out” exercise
A family activity where each family member is asked to pick something they are really passionate about and then make a little presentation about it, an activity she wrote about in her book. The point is to help raise kids who put thought into the issues that matter to them, learn to express their opinions, learn to listen to opposing opinions and debate in a constructive way.
