News From Your Independent Bookstore

This is the time of the year where our friends accuse us of being name droppers. We can't help it. It's so exciting to work in the Events Department at Copperfield's in the Fall because all the work we've done to recruit authors to our area and stores shows. So every fall, Copperfield's events crew puts out a brochure describing the featured author events for the fall season. Let the name dropping begin....Mario Batali, Ann Patchett, Carl Hiaasen, Jane Alexander, Eowyn Ivey, Jay McInerney, Scott Westerfeld, Amor Towles, Dave Barry, Amy Stewart, Mac Barnett, Alexander Winstein, Ransom Riggs, and many many more are coming to Copperfield's this fall. And, we're still booking authors so there may be more surprises. In addition to these featured authors, we also have a calendar full of in-store author events for those who like discovering new and rising authors. As a booklover, you are invited to pick up a copy of the brochure this week in your North Bay Bohemian or in any of Copperfield's Books stores. And for updates for the rest of the season, check our monthly calendar online and in print in our stores.

Sebastian Junger takes on survival in a divided world in his new book TRIBE

Indie Bookstore Day & Copperfield's 35th Anniversary Celebration

Thanks for celebrating with us!

Independent Bookstore Day

Thanks for attending the festitivies we hosted in our stores in Indie Bookstore Day. We also celebrated Copperfield’s 35th Anniversary with an all-day party. Copperfield's Novato Is Now Open!

On Wednesday evening, the line wrapped around the building at our new location at 999 Grant Avenue in downtown Novato. Hundreds of people flocked to the official ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Novato Chamber of Commerce, and they stayed until closing to revel in the realization of a long-time dream for their community.

"It is so thrilling to become part of such a welcoming and friendly community," said Copperfield's Novato store manager Winona Wagner. The new store is now open for business every day from 10am-7pm, and open until 6pm on Sundays.

Novato Store to Open Soon

It’s almost time! Our new Novato store located at 999 Grant Avenue at Redwood Boulevard opens this April.

Right now we are in a mad scramble to make sure all the books are ordered and on the shelves, the displays up, the staff trained, and the counter operational so we can be ready. We will have the official ribbon cutting ceremony at the new store at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, April 13, hosted in partnership with the Novato Chamber of Commerce. This event will be followed by a short reception until 7pm. Then shortly thereafter the store will be open for business.
