Wrap It Up–10 Holiday Book Picks from Copperfield’s Books

Peak holiday season is rapidly approaching. From gripping fiction and addictively readable autobiographies to enticing new cookbooks, hundreds of exciting, new titles are vying for your attention. The expert book buyers at Copperfield's Books have selected ten fantastic titles to delight the foodie, literary lover, adventurer, and scientist on your gift list. But don’t let this guide limit your choices.

It’s officially National Novel Writing Month!

It’s November 1, and if you’re a writer (or want to be) you know what that means—it’s time to get started on the novel you’ve been talking about penning. NaNoWriMo (the official parlance to those in the know) is a movement that prizes simply putting a pen down on paper (or fingers to keys, whatever your preference may be) and busting out 50,000 words by 11:59pm on November 30. If it sounds like a task of monumental proportions, you’re right—no one said it was going to be easy. But with a little help and encouragement, it’s more than possible.

Happy Halloween!

'Tis the season — for the macabre, that is.

We're gearing up for the holiday season, which kicks off with our favorite one of all: Halloween. Before we dive into turkeys and trees, we're celebrating everything ghastly, gory, and grotesque (and don't worry — we have some sweet stuff for little trick-or-treaters, too).

How Copperfield's loves educators in October and November

October and November are the months Copperfield's expresses its love for educators. We do it by offering two specific events. Our Educators' Nights are opportunities for teachers and librarians to hear about the latest books for kids. The schedule is below. Not only is this a fun night for book lovers, educators also receive discounts on books throughout the store. We give away items we've collected all year from our publishers as well. AND we serve delicious treats.

Additionally, for those schools looking for an easy way to raise funds for their school, we invite you to participate in our annual Money for Schools program. Schools sign up at their local store for the Saturday and Sunday, November 5 & 6 dates. Your school promotes the event and 20% of the revenue generated by your group that weekend comes back to you. Sign up in your local Copperfield's!

One Woman's Quest to Meet the King of Love

Meeting the King of Love is on at least one woman's bucket list. Cynthia Delgadillo plans to drive 16 hours to meet the bestselling author and get his books autographed. The mother of three lives in Corona near Orange County. Yet she's so devoted to Sparks that she's heading north to attend his event at the LBC in Santa Rosa on Oct. 6.
